Kinlochleven Seafood Café

We say

When it comes to seafood, this is as good as it gets. You sit by Loch Leven with the mountains of Glencoe forming a brooding background. In front of you are tennis ball-sized oysters and mussels cooked in cider, with a bottle of crisp, dry white wine to wash it all down. Oh, and there is the lobster thermidor to come. The highlight for real shellfish lovers is the shellfish platter, which can come on ice or served roasted with aioli. They sell their wares too, so you can take away some oysters to savour later. And you will want to.

Lovely seafood ★★★★★

We ate here recently, and the food is as good as promised. A little on the pricy side for this area, but worth splashing out on to have a special meal. It's also worth going for a drive down the shores of Loch Leven for the lovely views, even if you're not keen on seafood, it's worth the trip and a quiet, scenic route just off the A82 from Ballachulish. There's a little shop next door too which sells fresh seafood (of course!), and the line of Spanish crockery they use in the restaurant itself, along with lots of other Spanish products olive oil.
