I'd go as far as to say that you'll be hard pushed to find a shop like Makepiece anywhere else in the country. Established in 2004 by Beate Kubitz and
Nicola Sherlock-Windle in nearby Todmorden, this is home to a fashion label that produces two seasonal collections a year, a
classic range of accessories including unique innovative knitted shrugs and a
collection of knitted wedding dresses and capes. Beate and Nicola are inspired by the Pennine landscape
in which it is created, and the wool is supplied by their own flock of Shetland and Bluefaced Leicester sheep which graze happily on the moors in the Upper Calder Valley. A very special place indeed.
