Station Cafe

Lisa Crebbin and Antoinette Hunt run this bijou café on the platform at the wonderful station. It's all very Brief Encounter (and in fact not unlike the historic station at Carnforth in Lancashire where the film was made): there is proper espresso from a hissing Italian machine, homemade cakes, newspapers to read, witty greetings card to buy, so all in all it's a great place to start (or finish) your journey, and a million miles away from the ubiquitous cabins found at most stations. Is that a fleck of coal dust you have in your eye?
