OK so it’s no Newmarket, but Stratford Racecourse is one of the country's leading small national hunt racecourses with regular fixtures between March and October (and some of the top jockeys competing in them). Walking distance from the town and a great day out. Summer family race-days are popular, with free admission for under 18’s, free children’s entertainment and picnicking in the centre of the course. The racecourse is also host to a number of events (including caravan club meets and car boot sales on non race weekends).
