There are no permanent exhibits at Modern Art Oxford, but an ever-changing programme of temporary offerings, including talks, screenings and workshops. The café is a great chill-out zone, though, and there are regular weekend activities for kids: check the website for details of current activities.

On a raining winter day I took myself off to Modern Art Oxford and was surprised by how quickly I'd forgotten about the awful weather once inside. The white washed walls make the galleries light and airy, whilst the yard and gift shop add an extra interesting element. I love that the gift shop showcases local (and national) designers and makers of contemporary craft, a perfect place to pick a gift for a friend.
