Jarrolds IS Norwich. It's been there since I can remember, and 'Jarrolds corner' as its main entrance is known is the best place to meet a friend in town. What more proof of iconic status and location do you need? It's undergone a considerable facelift in recent years, and now has a make-up department that would rival many a London store - there's even a MAC concession. The fashion has gone upmarket too, but if you ask me it's still a bit 'private school parent at the coast' for my taste. Lovely book department, and the top floor with its toys and art supplies will forever remind me of my childhood. Don't miss the cookware department in the basement for great gadgets and an interesting deli.
