The Big Chill steers away from the grungy vibe of many nearby clubs in favour of something a little more classy. There are regular DJ sets throughout the day and into the evening, with house, drum ’n’ bass, r ’n’ b and dubstep, plus more mellow offerings of reggae, soul, rare groove and disco. The elongated lounge space is nicely decorated with murals, and an impressive bar serves up a long list of cocktails and beers, as well as filling burgers. Out front there’s a covered terrace area where you can watch fashionistas flooding up the street towards Brick Lane.
If you're looking for a place to kick off your Friday night in East London, then you could do far worse than the Big Chill. Usually packed to the rafters with an eclectic party crowd, the warm and friendly atmosphere is infectious and it's no surprise that it's as popular as it is. The great tunes, casual vibe, and efficient service make this an essential stop-off on the Brick Lane party circuit. Recommended.
