27 High Street Canterbury CT1 2AZ 01227 458 931
With its eclectic, retro decor and laid-back vibe, the Boho Café lives up to its name. Open for breakfast and light lunches with a Mediterranean touch – including tapas and an excellent bouillabaisse – along with burgers and sandwiches, it's a welcome little spot on the high street. Cosy up in the colourful interior, watch the world go by from the streetside tables, or enjoy the sunshine in the little garden out back. There's a laid-back bistro bar atmosphere on weekend evenings, and they also serve drinks, cakes and ice cream throughout the day. Free wi-fi.
I loved Boho intially because of its visual style. Charming retro furniture and collectables jumbled together stylishly, creates a cool but also welcoming atmosphere. Once you have taken in your surroundings the food definitely exceeds all expectations. It is great, so great that they can make the simplest of dishes (eg a bacon sandwich) something you will find yourself craving for years afterwards. At weekends, however, it gets very busy for lunch, so I have eaten there far less than I would have liked due to not advance booking.
