Tucked away past the beach huts on the esplanade, this cosy little thatched pub sits right on the beach amid upturned dinghies. With views out to sea, it's a favourite spot for watching passing cruise liners. The menu is uncomplicated, specialising in a good range of locally caught seafood that, when you're in such a seafront location, seems like its been thrown off the boat and onto your plate. You don't have to arrive by boat though, Fisherman's Cottage is just on the edge of Shanklin and sits at the foot of the picturesque gorge. A gem for seafood, a traditional place that has honed what it does through years of practice.
