Home-made cakes and pastries and first-rate tea and coffee are ample reason to stop here, with the creative vibes from the pottery barns an added incentive. Chessell Pottery won the Ultimate Island Cream Tea award from 2009 to 2012, and rightly so – their delicious jam comes from ’just up the road‘, and they take their cream very seriously: it’s all sourced from the RSPCA and freedom food-approved pedigree dairy herd at nearby Calbourne Classics. The tasty treats on offer supplement the 'pottery menu' of the barn where you can chose from the long selection of handmade English pottery, pick some sponges and paints, and set to work on a kettle, dish, jug or mug.
