One of the best ways to find fossils along the Jurassic Coast is to take a warden-led fossil walk on Charmouth Beach. The two-hour tours start with a talk in the Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre and a look around its amazing collection of fossils, then you head out along the beach with hammers and chisels. It’s amazing how many fossils you can spot when you know what to look for – the knowledgeable and informative wardens provide help and advice so that even the youngest fossil-hunters will come back clutching their own treasure.There are also regular rock-pooling tours and more serious weekend-long fossil tours for adults.
