Non Solo Vino

Enomatic is an Italian company that makes a gadget that lets wine shops serve a large range of wines by the glass; it stops wine oxidising, so loads of bottles can be opened and the wine won't go off. There aren't too many places in the country you can do this  so grab an overnight bag and make for Chesterfield, where Non Solo Vino ('not only wine') will happily encourage you to taste as many wines as you like in amounts small to large – and, as the name suggests, cook you a very good lunch or supper while you're at it. 'Small bites' (bocconini) start at three quid and might include melanzane Parmigiana, gnocchi, parma ham with figs while their signature dish  is agnello d'alpeggio (Derbyshire lamb, roast garlic puree, potato and celeriac pave, grilled asparagus). A truly cool, stylish spot in a slightly dog-eared town.
