The Old Grammar School

19 St. Marys Street, Truro, TR1 2AF 01872 278 559

We say

Walk into The Old Grammar School by day, and you’d be fooled into thinking this very cool city hangout is all about coffee, cake and café lunches. And you’d be right, to a point. From 10am till sundown, there’s speciality teas (try the Marrakesh mint), excellent coffee, signature burgers and Med-style mezzes on the menu. Free wi-fi too. But by night the mood changes key with tapas and tunes, cocktails and candlelight. Although it’s a bar serving food and not a restaurant, it's the tucker that steals the show: little dishes of British favourites from belly pork and hot dogs to chicken, calamari and hand-cut chips. By way of drinks you’ll find house cocktails and homemade ginger beer alongside fine wines and beers, all served to a backdrop of upbeat playlists and live band sessions.
