Blas Burgerworks

The Warren St Ives TR26 2EA 01736 797 272

We say

Passionate about good food, and the environment, Blas has set a new precedent for burger bars. Cornish, free range, fresh and seasonal are just some of the criteria the ingredients adhere to, while the restaurant itself is bedecked in funky reclaimed furniture. And the large-sized, mouthwatering burgers that come off the griddle aren’t just for meat-eaters – vegetarians will find it hard to choose from the mushroom burger, the beetroot burger and a Huevos Rancheros Burger with corn salsa, guacamole, egg and chilli sauce.

Burgers as big as your head! ★★★★★

At least that's what the kids thought! We finally managed to make it to Blas this summer on our regular pilgrimage to Cornwall and it was just fabulous. The childrens burgers went down a storm as did the funky decor, locally sourced ingredients and very friendly service. The whole place has such a welcoming vibe and it was almost certainly the best burger I've ever had, packed with fresh beetroot and hummus. The pudding was so good I can't even tell you, a lemon posset with clotted cream and shortbread. Beyond yum, definitely top of our list to visit next time we are in Cornwall!

Classic Burgers ★★★★★

The burgers here really do live up to the hype. It's a quirky little place hidden away under the bus station, so you could easily miss it, but it's worth searching out. They do great veggie burgers and fries, but my favourite are the classic Blas Burgers.

Although there are plenty of good options in St Ives this is one of the best, and the really down to earth, friendly service is a bonus too - a perfect place for lunch after a wander around St Ives.

Amazing Burgers! ★★★★★

Blas is a must visit everytime I visit St Ives (which is far too often!) and everytime I find myself debating which of their many excellent burgers to go for!

I don't eat meat which you'd be forgiven for assuming would be a problem when visiting a burger restaurant BUT at Blas there are fabulous veggie options and loads of regular veggie specials. I've eaten loads of veggie-burgers but none have ever been a patch on a Blas burger...

All of the ingredients used at Blas are locally sourced (they've a map that tells you where it all comes from) the fish they use is often landed locally on the same day) and ethically sound (so it a bit pricier than a Big Mac but you'd expect it to be beacuse of the way its made)... Sides are fries, salads and homemade coleslaw and drinks include an array of Skinners beers, local ciders, wines, and Whole Earth Soft Drinks.

It is probably the most laid back place to eat in the universe, with shared tables and a funky soundtrack you can just kick back, get fed and chill out. They like kids and don't mind if your noisy... Super relaxed and really AMAZING food!

Blas burgers ★★★★★

This place is great - the decor is fun, it's friendly and serves the best burgers I've ever eaten - especially the veggie ones.
