Coastguard Café and High Tide Restaurant

St Agnes TR22 0PL 01720 422 197

We say

This cool café serves the likes of home-made soup or crab and smoked mackerel crevettes by day, and by night dons its best dress, dims the lights and morphs into a fine dining restaurant. Head chef Mark Eberlein has brought influences from his native New Zealand into his kitchen, conjuring up uncomplicated, fresh flavours and some zesty Pacific Rim dishes. The menu is concise according to the seasons and what the fishermen have landed – you might get wild Cornish sea bass on a bed of samphire or venison fillet on a sweet potato cake.

What a find! ★★★★★

Visiting St Agnes for the day with 6 people - including 2 young children, 2 coeliacs - we were heading for the recommended Turks Head PH for our lunch, however on our travels we stumbled across the Coastguard Cafe / High Tide Seafood restaurant! Wow! The food was truly delicious, fresh and exceptional value and the icing on the was no issue at all to prepare a Gluten Free alternative using home made bread! We even managed a coeliac friendly treat with their moist flourless chocolate cake! Fantastic and highly recommended - worth the boat trip over from St Mary's to St Agnes :o)
