New Street, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire RG9 2BP 01491 848 400
Another handsome heritage building for the boutique hotel chain, this time a converted brewery an oar's splash from the Thames at Henley, and it's typically brilliantly dfone, with a characteristic eye for detail. In the 43 bedrooms are crisp Egyptian cotton sheets, big shower heads and (in some) freestanding baths. Downstairs, there's the bistro (open to non-residents), with its leather banquettes, champagne bottles and Parisian décor, serving a menu sourced partly from local Oxfordshire suppliers. Next door are the well-stocked bar and 'cigar shack'; outside there's a pleasant courtyard area where you can dine or quaff in summer. Free wifi throughout.
