Billing yourself as the world’s first permanent pop-up restaurant is a bit confusing: how can it be temporary – ‘pop up’ – and permanent at the same time? Let’s try to clarify: the restaurant, on the ground floor of a Georgian terrace in swanky Kingsdown, is elegant and gorgeous but in fact only open during the day as a café, serving wonderful baked goods, coffees and teas. In the evening it’s occasionally open for events but is available for hire anytime, whether for celebratory dinners, special occasions, book clubs, cake clubs, corporate nights…you name it. All you have to do is have a chat with the management about hiring the space and anything else you might need, whether it’s a chef, a menu, Peruvian dancers or tap-dancing kittens. It seats around 35.
