Independently run, with Michelin recognition, the ‘LSB’, as the locals call it, is a must-visit when in Reading. Perched on the riverside, with a view included, this Grade II listed build is know for serving up all sorts of mouth-watering dishes including slowly braised pork belly and spicy sea bass fillets. All the ingredients are locally sourced and deserts are homemade on the premises, including their dark chocolate & peanut butter fondant which is made to order and will therefore take a little longer, the menu warns. It’s also located in the heart of Reading’s shopping haven, making it the perfect spot for shoppers to sample the set lunch menu, minus the Michelin price tag. Staff are friendly and the service is efficient.
