This one-bedroom cottage is a great base for exploring the Isle of Arran for a couple or a family with babies or small children, conveniently situated in the island's largest village just a few miles south of the main ferry port. It's unusual in a number of ways. It has a lovely verandah giving fantastic views over Lamlash's Bay and Holy Island, a beautiful garden full of wildlife (including red squirrels), but perhaps most significantly it enjoys full disabled access and is the only cottage on Arran to be awarded category 2 accessibility. It's also newly refurbished so is very much looking its best. There's one, nicely furnished double bedroom, with a cot, but an additional single bed can be provided; the kitchen is well-equipped with washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher, and there's a DVD player and free wifi throughout. You're greeted with a welcome tray full of local goodies on arrival and the shed outside holds all sorts of equipment for various outdoor activities. As for Arran, it's very accessible and has got a bit of everything (it's often described as 'Scotland in miniature'), with fabulous beaches, mountains, rolling hills and a ton of things to do – for which Lamlash, and the cottage, are a perfect launching pad.
The Owner Says
We live in a beautiful place. Every morning as we look out our windows, it feels and is a breath of fresh air - food for the soul. How could we leave this now that our house is too big? Well we couldn't, so we downsized within it last year and formed two separate houses.
We are now able to offer a one bedroom holiday cottage so that other people can enjoy the superb sea views, have breakfast with red squirrels and other garden wildlife while enjoying their holiday in one of Scotland's top holiday destinations. Consistently our guests describe the cottage as a "home from home" with every comfort and everything they need as can be seen from their reviews below.
2014 is the first year that our cottage has been available and has been almost fully booked since April when we opened. This, and being awarded 4 Stars and Category 2 Accessibility (assisted wheelchair users) is a considerable achievement in the first year - all prior to having any visitor reviews. We wanted to offer our visitors comfortable and homely holiday accommodation of a high standard.
We welcome you to join us in this " Cool Place".
