A beautifully appointed self-catering cottage in a lovely Devon seaside location.

From the moment you step inside, you'll notice something unique about this whitewashed, 19th-century fisherman's cottage. Perhaps it's because it's been lovingly restored to an impeccable finish, including an original feature fireplace, wide wooden floor boards and characterful low-beamed ceilings? Or maybe it's because it's been tastefully decorated in an array of soothing pastel shades, tranquil sea hues and natural fabrics? Whatever it is, it certainly oozes comfort and serenity.

The cottage sleeps four people with room for more, and comes with pretty much everything you'd need for a beach holiday, including fresh, fluffy white towels and crisp, cotton bed sheets. Being slap-bang by the sea, in the stunning village of East Prawle, Devon's most southerly town, means you get to enjoy sea views from your windows. The South West Coast Path is on your doorstep, meaning it's a great cottage for walkers and walking holidays, while there are pretty pubs and village shops for your neighbours. All you'll have to worry about is how to leave.

The Owner Says

A perfect self-catering cottage equipped to meet the demands of even the fussiest of lodgers. The cottage sleeps four people, but we will happily add an extra camp-bed or cot if required for extra children. The lounge includes a log burner, comfy seating, a 26inch HD TV, DVD player, CD player with MP3 connection and a collection of board games. The kitchen comes with plenty of cupboard space, dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer, washer/dryer, electric cooker and a comprehensive range of cooking equipment, herbs and spices. There's a separate dining room, 2 bedrooms – one with French doors leading onto a balcony with sea views. The bathroom has a small bath and an electric shower. You've also got a west-facing garden and patio area, which also comes with a BBQ, wooden table and chairs.

Kittiwake Cottage

Kittiwake Cottage is close to perfection. The owners obviously take a great deal of pride in the presentation of this excellent holiday cottage. Creature-comfort levels outstandingly high, superb location, a wonderfully eccentric pub, excellent shop and cafe on the village green and dog friendly.Magnificent walks and stunning views. Stop at the "Gate of Contemplation" on the way down to the beach, take in the sweep of the bay before your eyes and feel the stress levels subside. On the way back from the beach, you can hang over the gate and get your breath back! Just wish East Prawle was a bit closer to East Anglia!

Kittiwake Cottage - Fab!

Just home from a lovely week staying at Kittiwake Cottage - it was worth trawling the internet to find this place and the owners obviously work hard to keep it looking good and welcoming for each new visitor. The supply of basic items such as tea, coffee, biscuits and cleaning products are most welcome and the vase of flowers was a really thoughtful gesture. Overall, a very well- equipped, comfortable place, warm & cosy and ideally positioned to take advantage of the stunning coast. The Pub isn't bad either!!

Kittiwake Cottage

This is a super cottage, one of the best we have stayed in. The owners have obviously put much thought into the fittings and decoration and it shows. It has a lovely homely feel with some nice personal touches that make for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The village has its own character best illustrated by the unique pub, the Pigs Nose Inn and the Piglet stores and cafe. A lovely place to stay in our favourite part of South Devon.

Wonderful Place!

This beautiful 2 bedroom cottage is one of our favouite places to stay. It is the lovely village of East Prawle, near Kingsbridge. The cottage is decorated and furnished to very high standards and is very well equipped. It is always spotlessly clean when we visit and the owners are friendly and helpful. Suitable for families and couples, we highly recommend it.

Kittiwake Cottage

This is a lovely cottage, tea, coffee, sugar and biscuits greet you on arrival and an ample stock of logs for the cold nights. They really have thought of everything and it makes for a comfy stay. Clean towels are provided along with fresh bedding. We have stayed at Kittiwake twice now and will be going back again. The Pigs Nose pub in the village is a must to visit, completely unique pub full of character and a warm welcome (dogs included). Caroline, Nic and Roley Parslow W/C 26.04.13
