Park Inn by Radisson Glasgow City Centre
UK Scotland Lanarkshire Glasgow
It may be part of a chain, but the Park Inn, opened in 2013, cuts a neat line between Glasgow's expensive luxurious hotels and the city’s B&B scene, which does not always offer great value for money. Here prices may be low, but the location is not compromised right in the heart of the city centre and the building itself is a bit of a landmark, a dramatic six-storey, polished-stone office building that dates back to 1872. The ground floor was altered by illustrious architect Thomas S Tait in 1933 and boasts sandstone flooring and fluted pilasters, while the entrance still sports a mask of the original architect James Thomson. The 91 rooms are comfortable rather than luxurious, but come with a handy extra of complimentary wifi, and additional facilities include two meeting rooms, a small gym and a friendly wee restaurant.
