Belfast's 5-star Merchant Hotel is housed in a Victorian Grade A listed building, originally the headquarters of the Ulster Bank, in the city’s historical Cathedral Quarter. A 2010 extension saw the addition of an Art Deco wing where both styles seamlessly blend – guests can choose from bedrooms offering Victorian grandeur with luscious velvets or Art Deco opulence with an abundance of features.
The hotel oozes elegance from every pore and has helped to establish the Cathedral Quarter as Belfast's 'place to go'. The Merchant's Great Room restaurant was once the Banking Hall of the building and provides sumptuous surroundings for guests to enjoy some of Belfast's best fine dining. Next door is the hotel's award-winning Cocktail Bar, which was once in the Guinness Book of Records for serving the World's Most Expensive Cocktail!
Also within the hotel's ever-expanding plot you'll find the Champagne Lounge, Ollie's Night Club, the Cloth Ear pub and Bert's Bar with its regular Jazz sessions. Guests can also relax in the hotel's Spa with its five treatment rooms and luxurious hydrotherapy area. In short, if keen to visit Belfast in style, and budget doesn't apply, then the Merchant is the only place to stay.
