It's a large hotel, and part of a chain, but this place has real Tudor charm, with beamed common areas and a few bedrooms retaining their original features.
Whilst many of the bedrooms are situated in a modern block and inevitably lack the charm of the original building, they're all very comfortable, fairly priced, and the hotel's location enjoys the best of all worlds – enviably close top the centre of town yet beautifully situated in its own grounds.
All rooms are en-suite and air conditioned and include flatscreen TV's, iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities and hairdryers (and trouser presses for those who still use them!).
The hotel is also home to one of the best leisure facilities in the area, with a spa, 18-metre pool and state-of-the-art gym.
