Location, location, location. The Bucks Arms would be a nice pub wherever it was, a cosy old building serving excellent food to hungry locals and tourists, and with 4 characterful rooms upstairs for those who want to stay over. In fact it sits right outside the Jacobean splendour of Blickling Hall, just outside Aylsham in North Norfolk, so is a very special place indeed, with two of its rooms enjoying unique views over the hall's grand and serene frontage while the other two look out over the vast expanse of Blickling's country park and grounds. It welcomes dogs throughout, and no wonder: there are almost 5000 acres to explore on the estate, with bike hire next door in the hall, so it’s really perfect for dog-lovers.
The rooms are simply furnished but generous sizes, all with en-suite bathrooms, and three have four poster beds just to help you get into the spirit of this historic location all the more. The largest room enjoys the best views over the hall and they offer put-me-up beds for £15 a night so would be perfect for a couple with young children. There's free wifi throughout and each room has a flatscreen TV. As for the pub, it serves predictably excellent breakfasts, and a full menu at lunch and dinner times – smoked haddock rarebit, a lovely Cromer crab salad or just great steaks, burgers and fish and chips.

The Bucks is a traditional 17th century pub and former coaching inn adjacent to Blickling Hall (National Trust). Serving several real ales and great food, it is the perfect stop off when visiting the area whatever the season. Relax in our spacious courtyard and gardens in summer or cosy up in front of the woodburner in winter.
If you are looking for Bed and Breakfast accommodation The Bucks has 4 unique bedrooms, some with fantastic views of the surrounding Blickling Hall Estate.
