  • 50 Guest Rooms
  • Contemporary Coaching Inn
A classy city centre inn with comfy rooms and a warm welcome.

A lovely, historic building housing a classy hotel – though many of the rooms are in a more modern annexe at the back. This 15th-century coaching inn has been hosting visitors for 600 years and rooms in the old part still have wonderful dark wood panelling and beams. The place has retained many of its original features and oozes class and luxury. Family rooms, doubles and singles are on offer, all of which have an en-suite bathroom. Before we get down to breakfast, let's have a word about the bar, cocktails are served in a bar opening out onto a pretty outdoor terrace. Breakfast is included, and there's free wi-fi throughout. The car park within the grounds is small and offered on a first-come-first-served basis.  Right next to the Westgate Towers and a short walk from both the centre and Canterbury West station. It's a classic hotel in a handy location.

Getting There

The Falstaff is dead easy to reach. By train, Canterbury West station is just a few minutes walk from the hotel, and is served by frequent trains from London Charing Cross and Victoria and less frequent high-speed trains from London St Pancras, and Ashford International. By car from London, simply take the first signpost for Canterbury off the A2 and at the first roundabout turn left and follow the brown hotel signs. At the mini roundabout turn right and follow the road; the Falstaff is on the left just before you reach the Westgate Tower, and has its own car park.

Good

This place is a beautiful little hotel with a very comfortable feel. I especially love the old area of the hotel as it feels so regal and of a high quality. I would recommend people going here and enjoying the nice hospitable staff and the friendly atmosphere. It’s brilliant because it is near sights that you would probably want to see. The food was very yummy. If i was to stay in Canterbury this would be my first and only suggestion as I think it might be one of the best value for money hotels i have seen for a while.
