Recently upgraded, and now making much better use of its perfect position on the seafront

Part of the same group as the Brudenell and the excellent Crown in Woodbridge, the White Lion was tired and a little unloved until recently, since when it has received a considerable facelift and now makes a lot more of its excellent position on the seafront right by the Moot Hall. It looks traditional enough from the outside, but inside there's a brighter, more contemporary look to the public areas, with a reception area that flows right through to the hotel’s popular restaurant and stylish bar just beyond. Upstairs, the rooms are well-conceived and comfy, and although they vary in size and furnishings, most are of a pretty high standard – something that can't always be said for the bathrooms, which are fine, but a little basic when compared to the rooms.
