An old townhouse that once belonged to one Count Leon de Ferrari, St Mary’s Hall exudes a traditional hotel ambience despite a recent contemporary makeover. The deep maroon carpets and mahogany furnishings of the public areas may seem a bit heavy after a day on the beach, but the rooms themselves are decked out in neutral, lighter tones, with large, comfy beds and ample en suites. Slick service and excellent food make the ‘Spirit’ bar and restaurant a pleasant place to wine and dine, and all the food is sourced locally and ethically.
