The perfect place to enjoy the best of the Brecon Beacons National Park.

Located in the heart of Brecon Beacons, this newly renovated 19th-century farmhouse is a perfect place to enjoy the best of the National Park, with an assortment of accommodation, from dormitories and en-suite private rooms to a set of luxurious camping pods in the grounds – plus wild woodland camping as well. There are around 40 beds in the hostel, divided between private and dorm rooms, a relaxing lounge and lots of places to hang out with your fellow walkers and hikers, plus a self-catering kitchen and a useful drying room for wet clothes. In short, the kind of walking holiday hostel you'd be hoping for in such a great location. The camping is basic, much more suited to small tents, with no designated pitches and with no dedicated facilities beyond those at the hostel – though these are decent enough, and excellent by campsite standards, since you can pop into the hostel to use the kitchen to make hot food and to use the well-appointed bathrooms and showers. The camping pods each sleep 4 people on a double futon and two single beds and have decks to sit out on – plus they accept dogs. The best thing about the hostel, though, is its location, with a multitude of walks from the door and loads to see in the surrounding countryside. Brecon is only 9 miles away, and the excellent Big Pit coal mining museum just a half-hour drive.
