When Bells Farm Shop first opened in the 1950s they were seen as pioneers of this new fangled 'pick your own' thing. Nowadays that may seem old-hat but, with some 40 acres of fruit and vegetables and over 200 different varieties, they remain perhaps the most diversely stocked farm shop in the country. Not only that, they have a collection of 6 bell tents, set in a six-acre meadow, surrounded by orchards of English apples,  with wonderful views across the Severn Valley and masses of space beyond to roam free.

Bell's Farm is part of a group of glamping sites within the Amber's Bell Tent brand set up by Amber Wykes, most of which are in Norfolk and tend to be situated in stunning locations on working farms or country estates. They all offer the same plush and stylish bell tents, with interiors that feature a a proper bed, a wood-burning stove and a box of cookwares that help you cook up a storm with your freshly picked vegetables. This is a real food lovers' haven, with a great butchers and an award-winning farm shop just down the track stocking farm and local produce, making it possible to create real gourmet campfire cook-ups – the perfect complement to a Worcester Oldfields cider or a Bells’ own apple juice. If this is too much work, you can pre-order food hampers from the farm shop ready for your arrival, or enjoy one of many food experiences on offer, from pizza to chocolate.

There's a fresh and new purpose-built bathroom building nearby with 4 luxurious cabin bathrooms and a washing up station outside, plus an honesty shop and wood store. For little farm enthusiasts, you’ll also find educational packs on the site, and also farm experiences available for budding growers and tractor drivers alike.

Among more energetic activities, the site has pedal go karts and miniature tractors for the kids down at the farm shop, plus an amazing new playground.  There are also plenty of attractions in the surrounding Worcestershire countryside, not least Wyre Forest, 15 minutes away by car, where there are endless trails on which to stretch little legs. The ruined Italianate mansion of Witely Court, and the national Trust's Hanbury Hall and moated Harvington Hall are all within a 20-minute drive, or you can stop off at the village of Bewdley, where a steam train puffs its way through the Severn Valley to Kidderminster or Bridgnorth.

Getting There

The nearest train station is in Hartlebury 2¼ miles away but for any long journeys the train from there will take you straight to Kidderminster (6 miles) where you'll have to change, so, for the sake of speed, you may be best off just going straight there.
