Talton Lodge Glamping and Barn

  • Sleeps up to 26
  • Perfect for Get-Togethers
A popular Warwickshire glampsite for weddings, parties and exclusive hire, filled with secret gardens, babbling brooks and enchanting accommodation

This Warwickshire glamping site is the perfect place to cocoon your family and friends for a weekend: a tempting combination of an orchard wagon and a fabulously unique tree house-boat, luxurious yurts and a North American-inspired tipi, all enclosed in a beautiful Victorian walled kitchen garden. Situated on a sumptuous country estate, it's available for exclusive hire and can sleep up to 18 people, making it a wonderful option for celebrations parties and group get-togethers. You can also rent it in conjunction with a unique barn which can sleep up to 8 people if required.

Your first sight of Talton Lodge, on the other side of a latched wooden gate, is of the Victorian red-brick walled garden, complete with veggie patches, raspberry bushes, chicken coops and an orchard,  all topped off with a deliciously babbling brook. It is, as the owners say, a sort of outdoors country house, with a large kitchen, three wet rooms, a bar, verandah and sitting room, a 'dancing room' and a dining room in the giant hat tipis, and lots of patches of garden in between. The accommodation consists of 5 'bedrooms' spread around the yurts, tipis, wagon and tree boathouse. Each abode comes with a wood-burning stove, proper beds and linen, and although there's plenty going on, each is astutely positioned so guests within your group can enjoy a sense of seclusion. With the barn, you also get a beautiful 18th-century structure with an open-plan reception space and a large open-plan bedroom with beds (double and singles) in niches created by the high steep sloping ceiling. There are 4 bathrooms, a men's loo, a spacious red and green kitchen with an oak table and all the mod cons, a massive amount of living, chatting and dancing space, and an honesty bar. Each 'bedroom' space is wood-fire heated.

All in all, Talton Lodge's glamping is like a huge house where the corridors are the fruit-tree-laced walled kitchen garden. One thing's for sure, you won't get bored. There's an outdoor table tennis table, boules and mini croquet, and the funky accommodation gives a bit of a festival feel to the gatherings, parties, anniversaries and reunions that they host at Talton Lodge, which also hosts a hatful of activities, from treasure hunts to sausage making, beauty therapy to pottery classes. The outdoor space especially is a paradise for kids, who can run around the grounds to their heart's content. There's a natural swimming pool with crystal clear water, unheated with filtration plants, and a 12- by 6-metre swimming area – great for wild swimmers and cold water swimmers, and an astroturf tennis court across the road if you're feeling really energetic. Also,Talton’s owner Olivia trained as a chef under Gary Rhodes and Margot Henderson and dishes up delicious three-course dinners on demand, so you may want to give the self-catering  for a night or two.

There's plenty to keep you occupied on the estate, including walks in the nearby woods, and the village is a short walk away and has shops and a couple of pub. Further afield, Stratford-upon-Avon is a short drive to the north, while to the south the small and appealing town of Shipston-on-Stour is similarly close. You're also well-positioned to see some of the northern reaches of the Cotswolds around Chipping Camden and Broadway.

Beautiful house and grounds with fab hosts

Recently I was faced with booking an overnight team-building business trip for 24 people and Talton Lodge was the PERFECT venue for us. The grounds and house were beautiful - the tipis and outhouses were also fab, everything super clean. The food was all delicious and they catered for every allergy and preference. The hosts were SO lovely and helpful - they helped me organise all the timings and activities. We had workshops with flip charts and projectors; we played tennis and snooker and ping pong; we had a team building tug of war etc. The honesty bar was well stocked and we even had a cocktail team come in and make lovely drinks for us, pre-evening meal. We are London-based and the bus was 2 hours ish from London so super easy. Would highly recommend - we are already looking forward to coming back next year!

Special and magical

We chose Talton Lodge as our wedding venue, and we were so pleased we did. Barney and Olivia, and their team were fantastic - so welcoming, helpful and flexible with any requests we had. It was so easy to communicate with Olivia and Barney through the wedding planning process. The venue itself is so special and felt really magical with tea lights and log fires in the evening. The food was absolutely delicious and we had numerous guests comment on how amazing it was, with great options being provided for veggies/vegans. We really had the best day, and couldn't recommend Talton more, we're already trying to think of excuses to return.

Countryside views and delicious food

Amazing stay at Talton Lodge with 13 friends at the Talton Barn and Kitchen. Definitely recommend the food on offer too, we had the pizza night and the bbq and both were fantastic. All rooms were immaculate and clean too. Barney and Olivia were on hand to assist us throughout and it was much appreciated. Thanks again for a wonderful stay.
