A truly peaceful waterside camping experience plus the delights of one of England's nicest cities on your doorstep.

This Broadland campsite lies within the spacious Whitlingham Country Park on the edge of Norwich, and is a great place to stay, offering a truly peaceful waterside camping experience, plentiful activities, plus the delights of one of England's nicest cities on your doorstep. It's both a useful gateway to the Broads and a perfect base for exploring the medieval delights of Norfolk's county capital.

The spacious grass pitches are spread over the upper and lower fields, with a magnificent play area built on the slope in between. You can park up tent-side in the lower field while the upper is a car-free haven meaning there’s plenty of room for a run and a play (pooches are welcome too). There’s also a couple of fully furnished bell tents, a yurt, a shepherd’s huts and a converted railway waggon, plus brand new, luxury tree-house-like structures nestled against the trees, with views over the country park towards the Great Broad.

The lure of the Broads is inescapable in this part of the world. With scores of visitors flocking to enjoy the wet and wild delights of Norfolk’s many navigable rivers and waterways, Whitlingham Broad is ideally situated to join in the fun. The park’s award-winning Outdoor Education Centre provides a host of activities including kayaking, sailing and windsurfing. And if you’d rather keep your feet strictly on terra firma there are countless scenic walks and bike rides to enjoy. Why not nip in to Norwich for the day to walk the café-dotted lanes and visit its grand Gothic cathedral?

Our loos are modern and spacious and boast seperate male/female washblocks with four toilets (three and urinals in the mens), four showers and four basins apiece, plus two family washrooms (private toilet, shower and basin with lots of room for changing), one of which is fully accessible.

The Owner Says

We started our campsite 9 years ago and always work hard to make sure our facilities and service do this amazing location justice.  Our modern washrooms are spacious, airy and clean, our little shop sells all the essentials and we are always happy to offer advice as to the best places to go and things to do.

Offering family-friendly accommodation is important to us, so we keep our Upper Camping meadow car-free, have a great play area (for kids and adults!) reserved for guests only, and ask guests to respect others by not playing music and keeping noise to a minimum after 1030pm.

We love a good campfire, so firepits can be rented and wood purchased from our shop: most of our glamping units come with either a woodburner, a firepit or both.

In the summer we welcome a selection of quality street food caterers to our site - please ask for details and availability.

New for 2021 are our Woodland Dens: a touch of luxury in the tree tops, with great views into historic woodland and across the Yare Valley.
