UK Travel: A Coronavirus Update

UK Travel: A Covid-19 Update

The coronavirus is continuing to present unprecedented challenges to all of us. Despite a good summer, we are now locked down in England until December 2, which means that no one can travel and all accommodation businesses must close. Wales are due to lift their lockdown on November 9, but even then no one can travel there from elsewhere in the UK, while in Scotland there are various tired restrictions, with some parts of the country in Tier 3, which means that although holiday accommodation can remain open, no one can travel there from other areas of the country, let alone the UK. In Tiers 1 and 2, accommodation businesses can only accept guests from elsewhere in Scotland.

We have paused bookings on Cool Places until 2 December but all UK accommodation businesses can continue to take bookings beyond then - eg for Christmas and New Year – and many properties are offering greater flexibility over deposits and payments in case your travel plans have to change. Many Cool Places properties are offering a Coronavirus Booking Guarantee, with low deposits, balance payments near the time of your holiday and flexible rebooking if required, so you can book with total confidence.

Whatever you decide to do, and wherever you decide to go, we wish all Cool Places readers happy and safe travels. Please contact us if you have any queries about the properties on our site, and get in touch on social media when you make your trip!
