UK Travel: A Coronavirus Update

UK Travel: A Covid-19 Update

The coronavirus has presented unprecedented challenges to them, to us and to all of our customers but we're happy to say that all holiday accommodation in the UK - hotels, B&Bs, cottages, campsites and caravan parks in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland - can now reopen and that people are free to stay away from home overnight. Pubs, bars and restaurants are also open for either table or garden service only. The latest government guidance can be found at gov.uk/coronavirus.

Many UK accommodation businesses – especially self-catering cottages and glamping – have been taking bookings for holidays from July onwards, plus there's a big increase in interest in UK travel, so you can expect some places to be full already for the main summer months. But some properties still have summer availability, and hotels, B&Bs and pubs are a long way from being full. Many properties are offering greater flexibility over deposits and payments in case your travel plans have to change; many Cool Places properties are offering a Coronavirus Booking Guarantee, with low deposits, balance payments near the time of your holiday and flexible rebooking if required, so you can book with total confidence.

Whatever you decide to do, and wherever you decide to go, we wish all Cool Places readers happy and safe travels. Please contact us if you have any queries about the properties on our site, and get in touch on social media when you make your trip!
