Students, eh? Hanging out with their mates, not much to do, loafing about in beautiful university cities like Cambridge, where they have the pick of the best places to stay, right in the heart of the city. The good news is that you too can stay in one of the beautiful old colleges during summer and other holidays, and you don't need to be a student yourself – anyone can book. It's usually far cheaper than a city-centre hotel and, while we're not talking luxurious digs, you get to feel like you're one of the elite at least for a few days. It's hard to say which college you'll end up in, but the rooms are generally comfortable and conveniently located. You'll eat in the college's dining hall (basically think Harry Potter), use the bar and stroll through the historic courtyards and gardens, on your way out to a day's sightseeing or punting on the river.
