This new venture by the team behind the superb Hamilton’s and Treacle was always going to be good. The location is great too, just off Bruntsfield Links in an area short of venues that offer both great drinks and decent food. It is all very postmodern industrial inside, with stripped back brick walls and a distressed décor in keeping with its gastropub clientele. The sharing plates are popular, as is the chunky steak and ale pie, which comes in a rich gravy infused with local favourite Innis & Gunn ale. We’ve heard some mixed reports on the burgers, but most people seem to love their cocktails, and we agree. They mix a mean mojito and do some interesting things with their whiskies.
