Princes Street is one of Scotland's great thoroughfares, with its majestic outlook across Princes Street Gardens to the Old Town skyline and Castle ramparts. While some of the prominent names from any British High Street are present here – including Marks & Spencer, BHS, Debenhams, H&M and Gap – and both Jenners and House of Fraser lend a department-store dignity to proceedings, more discerning shoppers are likely to fan out to the streets beyond, including Rose Street and George Street, where a more engaging and exclusive range of boutiques and shops can be found.
