Music at the Edinburgh Festival

Other than at the International Festival – where appearances from the world's greatest orchestras and conductors are a regular feature – music has generally had a lower profile within the Festival as a whole. This picture is changing, however, with more and more music across all genres: rock, folk, roots and pop in particular have established footholds, with mini-festivals or support from venues such as St Brides or the Famous Spiegeltent. In addition, classical music, opera, musical theatre and musical comedy can also be found in pockets on the Fringe.
