Iain Mellis's name is a by-word for good cheese in Scotland, with this narrow Old Town shop crammed with rounds of fine British farmhouse and classic continental cheeses, all kept in excellent condition, as well as a few tasty extras including aritsan bread, good oatcakes and his brother's honey. This is one of three shops in Edinburgh, and six around Scotland: at all of them you can try, and buy, samples of the best and most interesting local cheeses.
