Located up a nondescript internal stairway, Spoon keeps its charms modestly hidden. One floor up is a large, happening room cleverly broken up with assorted tables, bookcases and old dressers. The vibe is retro and individual, while the menu is as good as you could hope for in British bistro food in this price range, with excellent stews, terrines, fish and home-baked cakes. Great for simple-but-tasty lunches and kicked-back evening meals.
