The Inn on Loch Lomond

Luss Loch Lomond G83 8PD 01436 860 201

We say

This historic inn, set just back from the banks of Scotland’s largest loch, Loch Lomond, dates back as far as 1814. It has recently been refurbished and is a calm, beige-and-brown oasis that offers comfort and a warm welcome rather than luxury and fussiness. Choose from a room at the main inn or hop down to the banks of the famous loch where the Beach House awaits with its eight bedrooms – awash with four poster beds, chaise longues and views over the water. The free wifi is a handy bonus at an inn which manages to satisfy the needs of today’s traveller while still conjuring up a little spirit of yesteryear. Their Mr C's Restaurant is somewhere between a traditional pub and a restaurant, but not high-end (or pretentious) enough to be called a gastropub. Traditional starters include the likes of the gorgeously creamy fish chowder Cullen Skink or smoked salmon, with chunky steaks and fish and chips awaiting amongst the mains. Haggis, neeps and tatties comes in both starter and main incarnations, while they do a decent Scottish dessert too, cranachan. International dishes include curries and fajitas, with a children’s menu on hand too.
