Surfing in Aberdeen

Europe’s ‘Oil Capital’ may seem a strange place to learn to surf, but when you consider that Scotland’s northeast corner offers some of the world’s best breaks it starts to make more sense. Granite Reef, the proactive Aberdeen-based surf shop and surf school are used to dealing with beginners as well as seriously skilled surfers. They can show you the ropes right on the city’s main beach and swear that they can teach almost anyone game enough. You might even be lucky enough to be taught by the Scottish ladies champion, who works with them.
