The Rifles Museum

Salisbury’s army affiliations are documented and lauded in this homage to the Berkshire and Wiltshire regiments, which were amalgamated in 1959 to form The Rifles. Weaponry, uniforms, soldiers’ souvenirs and troop memorabilia detail over 250 years in action for regiments that were founded during the American civil war and have served in Sudan, South Africa and Afghanistan – the latter in the 19th century and the present; the battalions are currently in action in Helmand province.
