Sid Jones has run a music shop on Market Street for the last 16 years, and along with a number of his neighbours suffered huge losses during the recent floods. But he re-met an old friend, Valeen and they got it together, as they say. Newly hitched and with a shared future, they put the thick end of their savings into renovating and flood-proofing the old place, adding a super little café which Valeen runs with charm and chattiness. Now owned by the charming Lou and Paul, they have eclectic, intelligent tunes to browse on one side and on the other homemade cakes and very good coffee from a gleaming espresso machine. What could be better than your favourite piece of music and a slice of cornflake and treacle tart washed down with a heart-stopping macchiato?
