The finest independent music store in Leeds is the long-serving Jumbo Records, tucked away upstairs in the unlovely St John’s Centre. There’s a real old-school feel to the shop – they’ve got actual vinyl, and lots of it! – and the staff know their way around the jazz, funk, punk, indie, electronica, world and reggae sections that make up the biggest part of the business. It’s also the best place to find out what local gigs are on and to buy tickets.
