RSC Theatre

Waterside Stratford-Upon-Avon Warwickshire CV37 6BB

Following a massive £112m transformation, Stratford-upon-Avon's main theatre reopened its doors in November 2010 to great acclaim. A Grade II listed building, it retains many of the art deco features of the original building, which dates from 1932, with the addition of some modern contemporary twists. The main 1040-seater auditorium has an intimacy that was missing before, with the stage projecting into the seating, and the audience curling around the stage on three different levels, it doesn’t matter where you’re sitting, you feel like you’re part of the action. Even if you’ve not managed to book tickets to a show in advance, it’s always worth dropping into the helpful box office (located in the theatre shop) to check for late availability or return tickets.
