This place used to be known as the Black Swan, but it has long since been re-named the Dirty Duck, and although the sign shows both names (one each side!), no one knows it by its old name. It's almost on the river (there is a small road and stretch of grass between it and the water), but it's best known as Stratford's thespian hangout, with a list of past regulars that reads like a who's who of film and theatre. The food can be a little hit-and-miss, but it's a great spot and they've a good selection of ales – and of course you can while away many an hour trying to spot famous faces.
