28 Norman Rd St Leonards-on-Sea East Sussex TN37 6AE 01424 717 815
There’s nothing bland or boring about the funky Love Café on St Leonards’ Norman Road, which announces its presence on the street with a 20-foot-high pixelated mural of Prince Charles by acclaimed street artist Ben Eine, and continues the quirky theme inside with a mish-mash of décor than encompasses tartan armchairs, recycled lampshades, vintage cameras and a papier mâché trapeze artist swinging from the ceiling while flaunting a cheeky nipple. It all feels very relaxed, cosy and friendly, and the food is great too, with the standard menu (breakfasts, sandwiches and The Love Café’s famed crepes) supplemented by daily-changing specials chalked up on the blackboard. The café sometimes opens late for special nights (poetry, film, etc) – check the website for details.
