Old Bell and Steelyard
103 New St Woodbridge IP12 1DZ
Great pub in a crooked building dating from the sixteenth century, and serving good beer and food either inside its cosy bar or in the garden out the back. It's very much a pub at heart, with no gastro pretensions and a nice simple menu that includes pub grub staples and ploughman’s, sandwiches and cheese platters. Ask about the daily specials, and bear in mind it’s one of the few places in Woodbridge that serves food on a Monday night; plus they do a fine roast on Sundays. Beer is well kept and there's always a friendly welcome from Adrian and Siggi, who keep a good drop of Green King, Elgood's and other local ales; there's also a pile of board games out the back to keep you entertained.
