St Michael’s Church
Fore St Framlingham IP13 9BJ
Framlingham's parish church of St Michael is an extraordinary building not for itself, although the large thirteenth-century church is impressive enough, but for the sepulchral monuments of the local Howard family here, the Dukes of Norfolk basically, which together make up the finest array of monumental sixteenth-century sculpture in the country. They're also a brilliant snapshot of court life and relationships during the reign of Henry VIII and the Tudors.
