Sam's Kitchen

61 Walcot Street, Bath BA1 5BN

Funky Walcott Street is a hub of independent enterprise in Bath, and Sam's Kitchen, opened in 2011, is a welcome addition. It's a welcoming space – more like a big family kitchen than a café, though with someone else doing all the cooking – mouthwatering cakes, crunchy meringues and flaky pastries to tempt the sweet-toothed, fresh salads and roasted meats cater for the lunch crowd. You can shop to take home here, too – wines, pickles and goodies from all sorts of small suppliers. Every now and then there are arty events, and every other Friday acoustic musicians, jazz singers and ivory-ticklers serenade the diners.
