While the authentic pubs in the city centre are ‘gown’, this place is most definitely ‘town’ – very much a locals’ pub, but one which won CAMRA best pub in 2008 and thus attracts proper beer drinkers in droves. The pub quiz on a Tuesday night is nonetheless at University standards, and there are board games for the less intellectual. Thursday night offers a special 'buy 5 pints, get 1 free deal' should you happen to be in possession of their collector's card, and Friday is Moules Frites Friday- the meal plus garlic bread for only £10. Usual pub grub on offer.
